if I charged people (besides vriska) five bucks for a tarot reading I'd have a hundred bucks now. but alas all my readings are and always will be free.

@Alex when I was younger I thought paying for any sort of psychic activity was sinful especially mediumship and healing. but honestly now I get it its recompense for labor. with "celebrity psychics" though I definitely think the money taints it.

I'm curious, do you think taking money in exchange for a reading has any impact on it? I've always felt a bit iffy about any kind of paid readings or fortune tellings, as if the exchange of money for it might "taint" it somehow.

@Alex I would personally never ask for money for any activity like that though

I can see it as being a recompense for labor, too. Money can be a corrupting influence but it's also an unfortunately mandatory part of society, and it could be unfair to refuse to pay for labor, even with a possibly justified fear of that corruption. Psychics need money too, after all, same as anyone else. Thanks for the response.
