     It makes sense for vegans at least, since Indian food tends to have a lot of dairy, but if you're able to eat dairy there's not really any reason to avoid all of that stuff. Most fake meat is repulsive, the western attempt at vegetarianism and veganism is always a shoddy imitation of what they view as "normal" food rather than trying to create new things or looking at things that were designed without meat in mind to begin with. It's a bizarre obsession that's likely caused by some fundamental difference in perspective, though, I can't say for sure what the exact perspective is. That's probably a question for a philosopher.
