@7666 wasnt cisco a party in that giant anti-casteism lawsuit a couple years ago, not only do indians only hire other indians, they discriminate against a bunch of other indians
@sun I have no idea where it ended up. This website claims to keep track of it up to 2024, but after analyzing their strongly biased summaries it seemed fishy.
And then they got some cute little press release site here too completely staffed by Indians. Amazing how they all band together. Almost like the lawsuit claims.
It appears he moved on from Cisco (did you know they pull thousands of H1Bs a year and mysteriously 99.9% get approved?) and then predictably made an AI startup.
@7666 periodically someone tries to get casteism specifically mentioned as negative in DEI stuff and you should see how fast right wing hindu nationalists shut that shit down
@lizzie@7666 I have mentioned this many times before but I worked with a bunch of H1Bs that were doing Apache Struts. I am not badmouthing manual labor or hardworking blue collar people, but you could give somebody an oreilly book and they could do that work
@sun@lizzie@mischievoustomato Best professor I ever had was Indian. I showed him something about Java (of course...) he didn't know in one of my very first CS classes and that was enough for him to take me under his wing. He still calls me once in a while to say hello.
@sun@7666 im some neet lmao but my mom used to work for american express and they contracted a lot to tata consulting/now tcs and it was a nightmare for everyone involved (including the living conditions of dubious legality for the tata people)
