The thing is, lots of corps "need" "a throat to choke", because they still simply can't wrap their heads around what the fuck "FOSS" is. They want to make a contract with another company with a friendly salesperson and a support desk because it makes them feel safer than "hire your own people to be part of the community, write patches and support the OS for you.
And Canonical, Red Hat, and SUSE are happy to be those people.

And if you are going to pay, RedHat or SUSE seem like the more professional options actually supporting enterprise needs. Ubuntu is more the kind of enshittification you expect from a "Home" grade OS.
