     Arch with i3wm. Can't go wrong with a minimal setup. With dmenu and sym binds, you can make it what you want from there.

     For some faggoty reason, gentoo did not want to run on this stupid thing. I fagged out and installed mint Xfce because I want to use this laptop.

     I really wish I could have figured out how to get the damned touchpad working on OpenMandriva, but nobody else on the forums that want to help has one of these old macbooks or any ideas that I didn't already come up with. Of course stupid mint just works easypeasy, aside from the wifi drivers that I am used to surgically implanting from a usb stick.

     @lord_nougat @BleachWaffen @Paultron-3030 I have a version of pupplinux from about three years ago, and it’s not gay; I haven’t really checked more recently than that but it might be worth a look imo.

     I tried that one... well over a decade ago. Couldn't get it to boot at all ever and never tried again. Could be time for a second chance.

     But I kinda need support for apple macbook 10,1 retina - 2012. And apple makes that a pain in the ass for most distros that are not ubuntu, apparently.

     I've been trying to run OpenMandriva, but it is somewhat broken and nobody on the forums has thought of anything I didn't already try...

     Is gentoo sufficiently less gay than other distros? I am trying to quit ubuntu because it is possibly even gayer than mac now.
