@mrsaturday @mangeurdenuage kudzu and knotweed both piss me off bigly. You'd think somebody could learn to make knotweed into usable wood fiber with how tough it is and it's ability to grow anywhere. -

There's a vine that was imported from Japan to the US to try to control erosion, and conditions for it here are so much better than back home that it'll overtake wherever it grows if you let it. -

@BowsacNoodle @mangeurdenuage I'm too far north to deal with it, but a friend of my father's bought some property in the Ozarks where it was so bad, it had to be cleared out with a chainsaw and the roots pulled up with a backhoe. The stuff's horrendous. In conversation permalink BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this. -

@rlier23 @mangeurdenuage @mrsaturday Dandelions are edible too, but I'd much prefer they not push out all of my lawn or take nutrients from my garden. In conversation permalink -

@BowsacNoodle @mangeurdenuage @mrsaturday fair the again i don't really mind pulling weeds out i find it easier to deal with them than with other types of plagues like aphids or ants In conversation permalink BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this. -

@rlier23 @mangeurdenuage @mrsaturday Completely agree. Pests are far worse than weeds. Weeds can at least be beneficial for herbal remedies, tap root aeration, or making a nutrient tea from them for fertilizer. In conversation permalink -

I would much rather deal with weeds. I can ignore them for a few days, ignore the pests and tomorrow you're stuff is history. In conversation permalink BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this. -

@BowsacNoodle @mangeurdenuage @mrsaturday had to cut down two small bushes because they were infested with aphids and at the time i wasnt at Home to gas them daily
Ever since them i get a sick enjoyment out of bathing the fucking pests with pesticidas or squashing them with My handsIn conversation permalink BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this. -

@KK954 @mangeurdenuage @mrsaturday @rlier23 I'm considering tactical application of chrysanthemum powder this year. The damn gnats are out again and they want my flesh. In conversation permalink -

My two biggest pests are white flies and powdery mildew.
I mix Southern Ag Conserve Naturalyte Insect Control, mineral oil, dish soap, and copper fungicide in a two gallon sprayer and spray every few days. (Products that label themselves horticultural oil, are just expensive mineral oil)In conversation permalink BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this. -

@KK954 @BowsacNoodle @mangeurdenuage @mrsaturday Ive used small amounts of vinegar to combat fungal infections and they worked but fuck up the dosage and You Will burn your plants
Lately tho i've used ground cinnamon with water to deal with a bit of fungi that was growing on My orchid and it worked surprisingly wellIn conversation permalink BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this.
