Practically all these finance spergs on Xwitter having a meltdown about the safe haven status of US markets evaporating in the span of weeks seem to still be completely blind to the reality that this was inevitable. Trump just very un-gracefully pulled the curtain back on everything all at once and accelerated it by a few years.

I positioned for this the past two years while everybody else called me retarded. They can stay seething, the game is finally getting interesting for me.

@Hoss Taleb's quip is that jumping off a 10-story building gets you to the ground just like taking the stairs does, but the difference in speed is a pretty big deal. Trump is also not just "pulling the curtain back" but doing it in a way that makes the US look deranged. Trump's asking for agreements while breaking earlier agreements from his own first term. Trump's selling tariffs as "reciprocal" while implementing them as a function of balance of trade. Trump's men are talking about "90 deals in 90 days" while even incredible servile imperial subjects like the Japanese get frustrated and tell us to fuck off because in negotiations the US can't even convey what it wants the Japanese to do.

There's a lot of bad independent of the status quo having already been doomed.

The Trump-sympathetic take there is that the US is so unstable that he can't "take the stairs instead of jumping" because this risks the Democrats taking power. A slow correction would be disruptive enough to flip Congress anyway and then the Democrats go back to digging the hole and blaming all of the damage of the correction on Trump trying to fill the hole.

      But that's still a very US-negative take.

A global system that can be turned upside down five months into a single administration is not one that was healthy or robust, regardless of how bold and unpredictable that administration is. What's happening now needed to happen one way or another.

@Hoss It is hilarious because they LARP as being badass market cowboys who can see the hidden alpha in every situation and profit whenever even if others are fearful etc. like Michael Burry or some shit and then they turn out to be the same as pants shitting 401k MSNBC boomers the second ZIRP and COVID monetary bullshit has its obvious consequence which I saw coming as early as 2020 as a layman and as drunkard. Losers! So much for "be greedy when others are fearful and be fearful when others are greedy" instead it's "be greedy when others are greedy and be fearful and also gay and retarded when others are fearful" I have zero respect for wall street because they are a bunch of vampires but at least old school wall street people like Carl Icahn, etc. were actually smart and were not pussies even though they were evil. Modern day financiers are stupid, evil, greedy, pussies and you can only really get away with one or two of those things tbh.

I am convinced that having complete and utter contempt for normie niggercattle such that you only look for the opportunities they haven't so much as glanced at is the only way to make successful contrarian plays. I'm talking the kind of mindset that only a decade+ of absolute and totally consuming hatred for redditors and anything that interests them can cultivate.
