   @masukomi There are multiple people close to me who describe their gender as "trans" as if it's a noun, not an adjective modifying a noun. Words literally mean what people use them to mean.

   Maybe don't presume to speak for others, and especially not if your profile says "trans" and not "trans X" whatever that "X" might be. It somewhat undermines your point, no?

   If you want to point out how tick boxes are often woefully incomplete for expression gender, please do so, but maybe in another way.

     Dear Programmers and HR people.

     "Trans" (& "Transgender") is not a gender. It literally means to cross gender. Also it doesn't tell you starting point, ending point, or direction. It's a useless answer to the question of "what's your gender?"
