     @GossiTheDog - The company CHOSE the name "Palantir". The Lord of the Rings artifact that means "watch over from afar". The communication device that was backdoored and surveilled by the Dark Lord. The device that facilitated evil to threaten the land.

     @GreenSkyOverMe On Mastodon, hashtags are followable, so people with visual impairment follow that one so they can see contributed ALT text.

     @skry And it will be a very uncomfortable feed, they will have to click on each, then go up to find what the original poster wrote in addition to the picture, then navigate back.

     @skry And as there is no photo feed for pictures ... why have one for picture descriptions? Of random pictures, not e.g. "NaturePhotos"? A mix of political cartoons, cats and screenshots?
