Trying all the hot cross buns in the city? Sound like a Lenten pilgrimage of sorts. I actually had my first one a few weekends ago at a local bakery that just opened near me. So good!

I'm impulsively trying to try all the hot cross buns in the city this week. We'll see how many I get to given my schedule. So far:
- Noe Valley Bakeshop: this wasn't very good; it was a little tough and the almonds in it were, imo, the wrong texture for a bun. They looked cute though and the cross was nice
- Arizmendi Valencia: these were good, if a little big (if that's a valid complaint). Nice and soft. My main downside was the cross was icing piped on after baking
