as a woman, you are in a big group and get that tingly sense of someone watching you. you check and there's this dude constantly glancing towards you. he will continue to do this, even when you change venues. he will find you in a huge crowd. he will suddenly appear out of no-where for the entire duration you are there. less creepy are the ones who try to talk to you. more creepy are the guys who just watch.
99% of women will pretend to not notice, but evolution has built us to notice this extremely well. it can be positive, as in nice that someone thinks you are hot. but in most cases it's annoying to unsettling to extremely bothersome.- Fish of Rage likes this.

@kaia if it's any consolation the process is automatic, and unconscious. kaia likes this. -

@kaia That must be so irritating... Yet, I do have to confess having been on the other side quite often.
Not because I wanted to creep somebody out, but trying to convince myself to speak to that person. I will dare that any second now. When she's not dancing anymore. Nah, she's talking to her friend, don't want to disturb. Any second now... Oh crap, she's left. :(
Still, I fully see how evil, albeit unwillingly, that was. Sorry, girls, really.

@zappes yeah fully understandable. that's why I like the armbands that some clubs started doing that signal whether you want to be spoken to -

@kaia That would have been very helpful in my dating days... But that was the 1990s, and the other dudes would probably have kept on telling me that only wimps respect that. Ah, peer pressure. That's almost as much fun as root canal drilling. 😕
I can't say how happy I am to be "off the market" since 2003. I would rather become a hermit in outer Mongolia than ever doing that dating thing again.

@kaia to make things worse, it's persistence hunting, which is what humans are geared for.
