@GenMouton @Patricles @Thusnelda there are asteroids that contain hydrocarbons and there are plenty of minerals that contain hydrogen and carbon. for all we know if you mush them together in the right way you get oil. I wouldn't count on functionally infinite oil but I wouldn't totally discount it either
geology is a young science and a lot of it boils down to educated guesswork and pattern recognition. most hypotheses are untestable :02_shrug:Johnny Peligro likes this. -

Hydrocarbons are only found in sedimentary earth formations, organic in nature. -
