@Dramamine a great service would be an AI you can feed videos your friends sent to you into so then you can just pretend to have watched the video after reading a rundown on the key points

I usually just say i'll watch it later and act like I just forgot to if they ever bring it up again. We all know the reality is I don't want to watch that dumb shit.

The internet is like throwing a brain in a blender. Any resulting semblance of order is merely an illusion of perspective.

@Dramamine @VirginCrusader On the upside
the internet means that you can not just have summarized media in a way that was never possible with mass-broadcast television
but that you can actually tailor the summary to the viewer
i've dreamed for a long time of having something like a 'goodreads book compare' or a 'khan academy network progress' for what concepts you already understand -- so that you can skip the bullshit for comparing in one-on-one communication what each of you know before you get to the meat of what needs to be communicated (bonus points if you can do it in O(logN) or something) - - this is actually possible even in audio format now that we AI to help us do this stuff but basically no one's done it.

@Dramamine @VirginCrusader Of course the downside is that the people doing things that are new, thinking things that are new don't necessarily have the benefit of summarized thoughts to help you digest them. People on the bleeding edge have a constant struggle to get what they are trying to do through to people because not only do you have to explain what you're doing but you have to build the context that people are usually missing.

People who insist on being longwinded when they could be succinct are enemies of my time. They never outgrew padding out their essays word counts/page counts for school because longer = better.
