     I used to have that same printer, The generic driver didn't work, but the one for a specific brother model that was slightly a lower number did work.

     I bought that Epson printer that Shaq shilled for, and I haven’t had a problem with it yet.
     Shaq took a HUGE risk on that one.

     I still have windows on my desktop for gaming but I got a thinkpad with Arch on it that i use for portable stuff. Outside of gaming everything I have on arch works except my Brother HL-2270DW printer because it has weird alignment issues with cups.
