Everything I learned about eating on a working class income in my teen years is out the window. Old Coutry Buffet, Sizzler, Skippers, $5hot and ready pizza, dollar menu, all gone. I just assume the grossly obse are on EBT because I can't afford to buy more food than it takes to maintain my weight, let alone drink beer on a regular basis. - ✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: likes this.

@mitchconner @lain @echo @hakui There is an out-of-favor theory about hunger and calorie density cravings. If you're hungry, your body has a "memory" of calorie-dense foods (ie sugary, fake-ass shit). But because you're in famine mode, your body takes this sugary shit and stores it as fat. This may be more permanent than we'd like to admit. Creating a stress-induced maladapted metabolism (well, actually adapted to famine conditions)
But don't worry, this theory is out of favor now.
