If you're hungry, your body has a "memory" of calorie-dense foods (ie sugary, fake-ass shit). But because you're in famine mode, your body takes this sugary shit and stores it as fat. This may be more permanent than we'd like to admit. Creating a stress-induced maladapted metabolism (well, actually adapted to famine conditions)
But don't worry, this theory is out of favor now.
