     They are doing organized propaganda operations on fedi (e.g., putting "debate scripts" on their wiki and then having people spend time harassing anyone that will talk to them :indiancallcenter:), they are bothering kids (one admin actually kidnapped a child), they're making false fronts to attract kids to instances (the canonical example is berries.space), and some of them try to figure out which instances have sleeping admins by mass-registering, uploading CP, and then coming back in a week to see which accounts have been banned.

     Not even the whole list, just me rattling shit off the top of my head. Like berries.space luckily instance-blocked FSE before they even started up (citing the same reason Florian Viets, the mapsupport.de admin, cited when blocking FSE; using "oh evil nazis" as an excuse to hide what you're doing isn't a new tactic), but it was "Hey, all you LGBT kids! Here's an instance with no lower age limit!" and the results were exactly what you expect. So they announced they were closing down and someone from the Internet Archive tried to archive the site and the admins melted down, and that's what kicked off the whole "YOU CAN'T ARCHIVE FEDI!" freakout that persists to present.
     
     This is why transparency is the best way to get rid of them.
