   @amytabb @nomdeb is a huge fan of the pet insurance she got through Trupanion, so she might have thoughts to share.

   @skinnylatte has also mentioned that Trupanion, while expensive, paid for itself with her older pets.

     @jeridansky @amytabb @nomdeb i used trupanion then switched to petsbest as i got it at a subsidized rate through an employer.

     both were among the few that were able to insure much older pets (mine were >10)

     i think i worked out that none of the wellness stuff made sense, but the illness and accident stuff did. i paid 100 a month for my 14 year old dog, and in the last year of her life, we spent 20K at the vet and got back 13.

     it seems cheaper for cats (paying 50 something for my 18 year old cat)
