@skylar @munir Every computer on the plane is full of nonfree software (not firmware).
Everything should be free software for the airline's freedoms sake and for reliability concerns too, but it usually doesn't concern you if someone else's hardware contains proprietary software, whether that's a plane, a train or a car.
What is a concern is if the proprietary software is knowingly defective and is known for nosediving the plane uncommanded into the ground, like Boeing's proprietary MCAS software.
