With three exceptions, every STEM major was roughly 80% male, give or take 10% depending on the major.

The three exceptions were biology, math, and statistics. The biology majors were closer to 80% female, the math majors were closer to 60% female, and the statistics majors were closer to 90% female (not even including the trannies).

Race-wise, the more a major had women, the more racial variation in students of the major.

Non-Whites were largely Indian, Chinese, or Korean.
      Indians in STEM were female.
(Male Indians were all business or economics majors, lmao.)

There were hispanics on campus but I have no idea where they were major-wise.

Token black male in computer science.

My anecdote is obviously a small sample size but maybe a more recent sample for reference at least (graduated in the 2020s) :

Graduated from a university in a pretty hard red state. STEM major students--whether engineering, a science, statistics, mathematics, were mostly split politically according to sex and race as current society is split. White women and non-Whites were on the left. White men were on the right.

@Ash_Kvetchum @TrevorGoodchild @JohnYoungE @judgedread That is about what I'd expect. What was the % representation of each group?

@JohnYoungE @judgedread I'd wager almost all STEM degrees would be right leaning individuals of one stripe or another

@judgedread Dayum ... education doesn't seem to be doing any favors for White men either.

I'd like to see that broken down for White men by major though. I have a double stack of degrees and am pretty far right.

I am thinking most "pure science" majors end up basically subsidized by government grants, so they'd be left. Ditto for stuff like social work, education, psychology etc. As well as fields that are basically symbiotic with government at this point like law and medicine.

But I am suspecting that engineering majors would be a different cup o tea.
