"White House officials informed the Navajo Nation that an artificial intelligence-powered automated review process looking for content with DEI initiatives led to the elimination of anything mentioning “Navajo,” according to a statement from Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren."

@ai6yr Who trained the AI on "Navajo?" It wasn't AI. It was a racist.

@ai6yr oh good. Using "stupid AI did it" is already an excuse for a massive screw up. Our worlds smartest are proving to have behaviors of 2 year olds.

@clarablackink @ai6yr and I fear that the few times the obvious bias was pointed out in the last couple years will be rolled back. They are hiding behind a concept that computers are purely logical, and shoving the truth that computers do what they're told under the bed.

@ATLeagle @ai6yr This was always the real purpose of centering technology as "intelligent". It was more about the ability to outsource responsibility for malicious actions.

After all, "don't look at the man behind the curtain", it becomes easier to have a council of tech bros with an AI King that only they know how to run and that they can easily adjust or unplug.

It is deeply stupid but par for the course for people used to outsourcing blame while grabbing power.
