     @wratheon @icyart Also, not to mention being able to break down Shinto's altar. Some say, "As long as the gamer doesn't break, there's no problem." Well, it should be noted that it's surprisingly amazingly offensive here. Also what about their sword from their game festival booth, which was literally fan goods from Onepiece? It's just real that they consider Japan as joke.

     @wratheon @icyart But let's just say religious rituals are very complex and can be mistaken, but they literally confused with all the visual and cultural components of East asia. What they made isn't Japanese style, it's just nothing but something mixed up with Chinese style, what we called "Oriental shit", which consider as big insult for East asia because of it imply "You look all same in western eyes" (c)

     @wratheon @icyart Now false historical examination : I would skip some details because of there's so many errors. They confused and literally mixed all the religions in East asia that still exist - Taoism, buddhism and Shinto. All religious spirits and rituals are misrepresented, which is incredibly very unpleasant and rude in here. (c)

     @wratheon @icyart Worst part is they keep telling "We did a lot of effort to do accurate research" and spreading mis information according in their fame, and hiring pseudohistorian as their expert who even damaged in Japanese historian field. Those lines are even in their Concept-art book, which let many people slip into wrong information without they're knowing. Also they referred historic papers for it, from the fraud "Thomas lockley" who distorted JP history for many ages and etc (continue)

To remind you again, they advertise their product with the line "We've did so much research and made out accurate recreate of real Japan back then".      And add insult to injury, director literally said "We choose Yasuke as mc because of Gamers can't relate to Asian mc". Of course, as you mentioned, AC is not a franchise that “accurate real history”, but what made them fame in the first place is their “realistic”, which represented with the “Discovery Tour content”. And every other mcs from AC games at least has "related" with their region. Many Asian gamers take this as Asian passing. (continue)

     First is obiously Yasuke : I know the Western is focusing on his race, but the real issue is that whether or not Yasuke was a samurai is a sensitive and highly debated issue in Japanese historiography, not just because he was a foreigner, but because “conditions of samurai” has always been a very complex and sensitive topic, both historically and culturally.      @Possummachine @icyart I'm aware you're not a native English speaker, I'm not one either, so I apologize for any misunderstanding. I'd like to see your perspective on it, yes. Also, my point about people looking it up on YouTube and getting flooded with Western perspectives is that YouTube shows results based on your location, and a lot of people searching videos aren't gonna be in Asia, so unless they know the channels it makes it harder to see what you're talking about specifically.

     @Possummachine @icyart So you're not gonna elaborate on what's so bad and offensive about AC: Shadows to Asians? I'm genuinely curious. Other than it being your usual copy and paste mediocre uninspired Ubisoft game, what's so bad about it?

     I would love to know more since, according to you, it's not the same issue that a portion of Westerners were complaining about. What is the issue then?

     You suggested people search it on YouTube, but that will have westernized opinions on it.

     @Possummachine @icyart It's indeed really hard to deal with someone who doesn't know their ignorance. Although it's even harder dealing with someone who has limited reading comprehension!

     Never in my comment had I claimed that every Japanese person who criticized the game was a GamerGater, mainly because GG was a Western movement. However, since most of the negativity towards this game is coming from the usual GG chuds, it's hard to separate what's genuine and what's rooted in their agenda.

After the moronic chuds from GamerGate infested every corner of gaming, unfortunately, it's almost impossible to separate actual criticism from their "anti-woke" reactionary bullshit, and AC: Shadows was targeted by them because god forbid a fictional game uses a black character in feudal Japan (AC was never really historically accurate, even on 1, but suddenly it's an issue because there's a black guy).

     Ubisoft sucks, but not because of Yasuke.

     There's far beyond more than just Yasuke. We're mad at ACS because of the unpleasant, toxic historical and cultural errors, not because of some LOCAL issues in western shit. Don't judge others with your limited insight.

     @Possummachine none taken, I am sorry if I appeared to be giving random advice. I try to avoid definitive statements as there is always the large possibility of me not having the full picture. I was merely trying to point out that there are a lot of people online with zero interest in Japanese culture or assassin’s creed trying to generate headlines for clicks and that as such a certain negativity bias should be accounted for when forming opinions on these topics.
