   Safeway faces city violation for keeping 2nd entry closed in effort to curb shoplifting
   
   I'd side with Seattle on this. The local Safeway has one of its two doors closed permanently too, and that makes it unsafe for the shoppers on foot as we have to walk across the edge of the parking lot to get to the open door on the far end from the sidewalk. Sometime last year, a driver smashed their car into one of the columns between the two entrances. It could easily have been me had I been there.

     @daihard @daihard The Safeway on Market Street in Ballard, as well as the QFC on 24th Avenue in Ballard, are guilty of the same thing. Surprised that's not mentioned here. :blobfoxthinkgoogly:

     @tk @daihard@sakurajima.social The same thing for the Safeway on Roosevelt and 75th. I went there yesterday after a long while, and alas, they had the door closer to the sidewalk closed. Even worse, they had added gates to the paths that led to the inside of the store. I don't think I'm ever going back there again.
