     @CapitalB nothing's stopping European countries from building up military power and going full US on shitholes like Libya. Just saying man. It's not technically nor economically impossible. We have larger population that the US. And larger GDP too, ya know.

     Then the Saudis turn off the faucet. Libya would need a serious Italian presence (two front war...), France would lose their African resources, there would be definitely no oil coming in anymore via shadow fleets. Many more I guess. Russia would blow up some gas pipelines from Norway and that's it.

     I won't even bother reading the article and I'll just answer.
     Long version: Europe absolutely can. Heck, Europe (collectively) can easily outmanufacture, outgun and outman Russia.If Europe was really serious about it, which I don't say it should, mind you, could literally wipe Russia off the map. It would take manning up and un-gaying the population,so it won't happen,but hey.
     Short answer: well, kinda.
