   @smallcircles @cstross I've lived through eight years of authoritarian rule (not counting the old Communist regime, which I barely remember), and one thing I've learned is heroes are all around us, and they pop up everywhere. The measure of good leadership in a crisis is their ability to manage grassroot heroism.

   (the leadership here in Poland has largely failed at this, which is why the situation remains precarious)

     @cstross all the sci-fi lovers realize that the heroes quest is only for the hero.. the rest dies :)

     History: I heard you were bored? Here, have a plague and an ongoing climate disaster then an entree of nuclear-armed Nazis! They make EVERYTHING so much more exciting!
