@LoriQuaid The citizens born in countries will be forced into this. Migrants can have any identity (bought, stolen, made up) and then get a digital ID that "proves" who they are. Another aggression against those born ina country. Plus nobody likes Blair. It's a spit in the face of Brits that he talks about what UK "needs".

Brits 'will sacrifice privacy for efficiency', Blair claims as he pushes for digital ID and facial recognition

Me: I'm not British, but I wouldn't want to make this trade off. Infuriatingly, Blair makes the case that this would make it so the hoards of illegal immigrants would stop coming into the country, but since the political leadership seems to want this, I assume they would issue a smartphone and digital ID to each immigrant no matter his legal status.

Brits 'will sacrifice privacy for efficiency', Blair claims as he pushes for digital ID cards and facial recognition
Tony Blair has claimed that British people will accept less privacy in exchange for greater government efficiency, as he pushed for national digital ID cards to be rolled out.

@DaddyO @LoriQuaid Quite many politicians tried to copy him. Sort of bourgeois "left" with not a taint of working class. Or work, for that matter.
