The Maginot Line is something I like referring to, but it doesn't mean I think everything is WW2; to me it's a big example of how you can put a ton of effort into a defense and things can change to render it completely useless.
@sickburnbro A little bit of me cries whenever i see the young uns conducting their not legal enterprises on text and Facebook messenger. No survival instincts.
@sickburnbro house call appliance repair (including TVs) is absolutely still a thing, it's just not something young people even think of because they don't own anything worth fixing
paul graham is not young but he is an arrogant moron. I scroll his xwitter occasionally when I want to feel annoyed by his dumb takes
@sickburnbro One of the mid level managers in my company uses sports analogies for everything. He has clearly never played a sport in his life and I question if he even watches games.
Yea Samsung still has contractors that do warranty repair. Louis Rossman did a video on one of the shittier ones who slashed the guys TV to try to get out of warrantying it.
They might not be "repairmen" in the traditional sense. (I'm going to guess they just take the panel and replace it for the warranty. But the original probably gets repaired at a service center and sold as a "factory certified" refurb or something).
