     Fair enough. I keep keto, so animal fats and flesh are what I live on. Had I to fast, I'd likely just do a full fast. Water, electrolytes and supplements. But, I didn't have any specific religious instruction to observe Lent with fasting. Blame the prot upbringing.

     @Frondeur I don't strict fast except the first and last day + divine liturgy days. I don't do well with it and the kids are all different ages and levels with fasting. We eat a lot of vegetarian dishes throughout lent and smaller portions when we do eat meat. The no oil thing actually pisses me off since the distinction only exists because they used animal skin jars or bladders to hold it.

     @Frondeur I struggle with giving up cheese. I also refuse to eat any of the fake meats or cheeses. It feels jewish to do that as a substitute. I did learn that bouillon is likely okay, e.g. chicken ramen although you'd need to check with your priest. The amount of meat present in that is functionally zero

     @BowsacNoodle yeah the oil one is so hard...unless you prepare your own food...last year before i was baptized i ate fish and oil anyway out of ignorance...we'll see how i handle no oil though...one thing is certain...i will eat a lot of cheese on cheesefare...
