Got a killer deal on these brainworx mastering tools, $24 for both with a promo coupon. I'm not a mastering engineer but I think I get some good results out of these.
I'd tag Johnny5, he's the bx fan but I lost his new username again. image.png image.png
Well until I make some actual money on my music so I can go full fabfilter pro-q, this will have to do lol. I was watching tutorials with the bx_digital and it can excite the M/S very very well in compelling ways, these were not a waste of $25 bucks, a good starter toolset until I graduate into the big boy tools.
@charlie_root@Humpleupagus@ned@butterdog I dislike lots of knob plugins. Knobs work really well on hardware. Brainworx make good plugins and their choices are normally good. Personally, I've avoid the one stop shop mastering plugins. I think they can be really useful though for people to play with the elements that are normally used when mastering a track in a cut down form. One thing is a lot of mastered tracks go over true peak. There are big debates on whether true peak limiters are good.
@charlie_root@Humpleupagus@ned@butterdog Some people use it as an oscilloscope. There's so much in there. It's not just an LFOTool. You can take the most static line and add lots of movement. Anyway, it's late/early I need to sleep. Have fun.
I've been considering it for over a year now, glad to make the leap. The M/S mastery has been drilled into my head this whole journey and I think I've figured good tools to make it happen.
@charlie_root@Humpleupagus@ned@butterdog Everything has a lifetime. Plugins are addictive. Once you discover that Shaperbox allows you to play sections backwards or skip around, you'll be writing rhythms in shaperbox. It's possible the best value plugin I have.
Just like my money into in Serum and Minimal these tools and companies are my crypto, may the best audio tool win.
Also sad news I just found out Renoise is possibly dead the lead dev is about to pull a Jeskola Buzz, I think he'll just monetize a working version for the coming years with Windows 64 bit backwards compat, but the project will be in maintenance mode. C'est la vie...
