   I am very concerned about the next generation of "programmers" who know absolutely nothing about basic software development practices, such as using version control. All they do is literally just fucking prompt shit until it works having never written a single line of code.

     @koakuma@uwu.social Actually I would personally assume that both types of organizations exist. You don't want to work for organizations who produce slop anyways, with or without "AI".
     
     Good organizations will always care and they will hire the most skilled person and will definitely not hire someone who spends 500 euros a month of token generations a month.

     If I had a Reddit account I would honestly reply to this like "Don't install this piece of trash and install Scratch or something and learn the absolute basics of programming first".

     In the future when critical things are going to break down, we are going to be the modern equivalent of wizards being able to do things nobody from the next generation can do.

     @hakui@tuusin.misono-ya.info I don't fully know everything about ffmpeg indeed, but at least I have the mental capacity to read the ffmpeg documentation and figure how to do the thing I want it to do.
     
     Or you could just ask LLM to generate an ffmpeg command for you that might do what you want it to do if you're lucky while not learning a damn thing.
