   I'm just thinking out loud here, but are there many who enjoy #emulation via #PCGaming who might want to do a bit of a weekly or monthly play-along together?

   Like a book club for older games?

   I know for the #SteamDeck community there is #RetroDECK and #EmuDeck but for desktops themselves the options are many.

   Might be nice to all decide on a game to play, then share our thoughts on it via a #?

   These things rarely work, or keep up steam...but thinking aloud, it could be fun!

     @flwwhtrbt I believe @killyourfm was floating a similar retro games club idea recently too, although I'm not sure if it was mainly targeting retro hardware?

     Could be worth checking out either way!

     @flwwhtrbt @EccTM Feel free to join us! Given that we had basically the same idea, I'm sure we'd benefit from your participation.

     We're in the process of discussing what our first playthrough will be for March. In the meantime, there's plenty of rooms to geek out over your favorite retro games + consoles. We also have a dedicated room for PC and general tech chat.

     @kmstrube81 @flwwhtrbt Wow, is this the ONLY instance of that hashtag? If so, that's rather shocking!

     Btw, I did consider running the entire thing from Mastodon, but was concerned it would get far too chaotic and disorganized over time. With Matrix, at least we can sort of partition certain topics and grow the space organically to focus on building a community rather than just a monthly playthrough style club, if that makes sense.

     @flwwhtrbt I think a fedi #retrogameclub would be pretty cool. Everyone who follows the hashtag could participate. I think if you didn’t more often than monthly though it would be hard for most people to make progress through the game.
