   I don't understand why someone would publicly claim they are leaving Pixelfed, then proceed to delete their account, then claim I deleted it maliciously.

   Then threaten GDPR action!

   This isn't the first time this happened btw, a lot of people regret deleting their account, and because of GDPR, we delete all data immediately.

     @dansup Facebook had this problem back in the day.
     Angsty teens would rage delete their account, and then regretfully demand it back.
     So they implemented a time-out before proper deletion.
     I guess you technically could still do the "your account will be recoverable for X business days" and still be GDPR compliant if you really wanted.

     @dansup @Edent As long as you don't promise to delete it in a specific time frame, and you do delete it in a reasonable timeframe if the user doesn't chnage their mind, then I don't think you would be in violation. You've done what you said you would unless then asked not to.

     @dansup They are the fake accounts of our enemies—ignorant, jealous people who fear our growth even before Meta does.

     Our only rival is Meta, Instagram.

     Those who are content with Meta's servitude are trying to stop Pixelfed.

     But we will succeed! We swear that we the free people and the @pixelfed developers, @dansup we will achieve victory!
