     That’s it, that exactly it, I’ve never seen it phrased so brilliantly and succinctly! Politically correct euphemisms like “ethnic cleansing” soften the narrative until an atrocity is just an inconvenience, and *that* can be ignored.

     He noted that if you make the term longer and cumbersome, it loses impact. It sterilizes the idea. Shell shock became battle fatigue, then became operational exhaustion. The humanity had been wrung out of it.
