@david @darkling I was a first chair second violinist as a freshman in HS. After ditching it for the guitar, the same sentiment goes for popular music. Except for the "extremely good" part. It's who you know, not what you know. Connections matter, as does a willingness for you, or your parents, to owe people for your manufactured success.
It would be nice if it was a good career avenue to walk down. Music just isn't, for most of us. But I still write and post music during moments when I'm not soured on the whole thing, lol.
The last time I picked up my violin, it was to record a duet with one of the Canote Brothers (Jerry), way back when. I'm restringing instruments. I might give it another screech or two. 🎻
