@arrrg @aud why did you not vote for some other party instead of the republicans or democrats?

@UlrikNyman @arrrg @aud Because we don't live under a system that offers that option except nominally. And even if it did, the supposed "other parties" are grossly unqualified and *worse* because they have no plan or intent to govern, just to say empty shit that sounds nice because they know they don't have to follow through.

@dalias @arrrg @aud And I know this and I am only baiting you into explaining it for you to see how stupid this election system is.
Protest in the streets for election reform! This is an activity that you can do together with people from the left, right and center.

@UlrikNyman@mastodon.social @dalias@hachyderm.io @arrrg@kolektiva.social yeah, look: I know how fucking stupid it is. I have known how fucking stupid it is. What do you think this weak ass waste of time suggestion is going to do while we’re currently experiencing multiple constitutional crises? Election reform is for ten or twenty years ago; they have explicitly rolled back numerous protections that were put in place to get rid of voter suppression. We are past that point.
Do not waste my goddamn time “baiting” me into “seeing” that the barn door should have been closed when the horse is busy kicking our faces in, thanks. It’s insulting.
