   man I know,
   is in a custody battle with his ex.
   so far it was 1 week / 1 week
   he is fighting to keep that way when the ex wants to have custody and he gets just every secon week end
   
   he wins , keeps 1 week / 1 week and now he is complaining that it is"not exactly what he wanted" and that "he needs more time for himself" and that what he wants most is" reestablishing dialogue"
   
   am I right that he is just asking for custody to "win" over his ex?

     @stephagain Sounds like he doesn't want time with his kids, but he does want a judge to tell him he is ENTITLED to time with his kids. Dragging an ex partner to court is the worst way of establishing a dialogue. What he's actually establishing here is dominance.
     
     Is this the same man who did the non-violent communication course, by any chance?

     @EatKnitSleepAgain @stephagain I knew two different women who had the same thing. Their exes made a big fuss about custody just to drag them through the courts.

     @KeepTakingTheSoma @stephagain Mine did it. Cost me a fortune in solicitors bills, while he got legal aid.
     He lost his nerve at the very last minute, and ended up agreeing to the same EOW arrangement we'd had since splitting up.
