i should start a trade offer program
i receive: riscv/arm/ppc hardware that can make our build fleet faster
you receive: packaging of a pointless firefox fork of your choice

@lanodan i have an 80-core ampere machine and the cpu never goes over 65w
i have a 36-core power9 machine though and that's ~440w in cpu tdp alone
@lanodan can't spell powerpc without power
@koakuma all the riscv hardware vendors are too busy advertising bullshit-generator-capability to make something that is not grossly underperforming for regular computering
@q66 > riscv
I find it funny that everyone in HN seem to be hyping that high-performance RISC-V processors are going to come soon but then you see the page of the hyped product and realize that said product won't be something that normal consumers can get in quantity one anyway :char_nachoneko_baa:
@lanodan @q66 I have this SPARC box that pulls some 450W at full load and given the noise this thing makes I won't be surprised if the majority of the power goes to the fans :blobcatpeekaboo:
@lanodan @q66 Oh seems like I can query it; the CPU takes around 160W right now (full load compiling LLVM)
@lanodan @q66 Would love to do that but I dunno what kind of fan would fit in this box (SPARC T4-1)...
i was about to buy a milk-v pioneer to replace the current riscv builder thing but then mouser took it down and i no longer feel like spending like 2k euros to get a preorder from a chinese website
so whoever obtains me that (idc how, i'd settle for the motherboard) gets their librewolf or whatever meme browser
