     @Sovereign @Appalachian_Crusader @WhiteAmericanEskimo you mean your pleroma instance? yes it can. ratelimiting, but there are a fair number of instances running on TOR which cloudflare will block with a challenge. you can bypass this if you go to security -> WAF -> custom rules and adding the following to allow all instance software to bypass this by selecting skip as the chosen action:

     @Appalachian_Crusader @Sovereign @WhiteAmericanEskimo india and china are blocked permanently otherwise it's possible you got rangebanned, I block a handful of ASNs (google, digital ocean, datapacket (used with a lot of VPNs) etc)

     @graf @Appalachian_Crusader @WhiteAmericanEskimo I use Cloudflare for my instance. Can that cause issues with other instances? I just started my instance so sorry if that is a pretty noobish question.

     @graf @Appalachian_Crusader @WhiteAmericanEskimo yeah, I just started pleroma.postawakening.com. I'm kind of inspired by your instance to be honest. You guys are rocking hard over there.
     
     I'm kind of doing this as a hobby for now but I wouldn't mind growing a little. Bless you for this information. There are so many aspects that can't be easily read about but you have to learn from others. Hopefully you don't mind if from time to time I ask some random questions here and there. Maybe I can compile some knowledge in the future to help new instances get better as well so I pay the assistance forward.

     @Sovereign @Appalachian_Crusader @WhiteAmericanEskimo yeah no sweat. i try to help anybody i can. i had meant to write a blog about all the issues i've had to overcome as the largest (by a far margin) instance on this side of fedi. on this side we are as helpful as we can be to eachother, but a lot of stuff i've still had to figure out on my own for sure. if i dont respond i probably didnt see your notification so just reply with "bump" or something and ill see it

     @graf @Appalachian_Crusader @WhiteAmericanEskimo how does one "bump" on Pleroma? Is Poa.st on Pleroma mainly or do you guys also run on Mastodon and other frontends? I avoided Mastodon because it seems resource hungry, plus everyone seems ready to ban for divergent thoughts or unpopular ideas. I'm more into the wild west of free speech personally.

     @Sovereign @Appalachian_Crusader @WhiteAmericanEskimo by replying to my post (i just used bump as an example) i will see that in my notifications. i get a lot of notifications in a day and I often time dont have the time to scroll through it all so by replying I wlil see the new notification and wonder what its about.

     we used to run a mastodon front end but the main front ends are Soapbox at poa.st (until I replace it with pl-fe maintained by marcin) and pl.poa.st which is the default Pleroma frontend

     its not as bad as a lot of people lead on about it, but I wouldn't suggest it for a single user instance or even a small community. it scales really well but it's way overkill for <100 people for sure.

     haha, yeah. the great fediblock wall. new servers will ban you just because you're on a list other servers have blocked. you don't even have ever had to interact with them and you're already blocked. threads blocked us before they even started federating, i consider that a badge of honor
