@skinnylatte more than a decade after this happened, I'm *still* shaking my head about the mom who let her daughter drive anywhere but thought I was *taking big risks* because my daughter rode to and around Seattle by bus.
The young women were of the same age.
@SRLevine I wish I had a pic of Monterey transit plaza. It is like, half a block, it’s in a garden-like space, there are like 10 people at any time, max. I’m guessing because they get harassed by LEOs
@skinnylatte Whenever someone asks me if an area is safe my go-to answer is to comment on the amount of cars and the absence/presence of side walks and whether you can cross the street safely without some jerk running a stop sign. It's fascinating how people respond to you answering the question they asked literally (and in fact is what I'm most concerned about when walking someplace) rather than what they were trying to imply.
