   Make a mental note of all the corporations who immediately abandoned all initiatives that support equality and diversity the minute it was deemed acceptable. You can ignore their pleas from here on out. They don’t care about their own people, let alone you. Never did. But now you have proof.

   You can use them if that’s what is required, but they have zero loyalty to you and you should free to feel the same.

   I work with brands to foster loyalty. This is not the way.

     Sorry. Corporation are by definition not loyal.

     They'll do what they have to do to optimise their bottom line. The question is only how short term they are thinking.

     @WarnerCrocker @davidtoddmccarty One of my early "jobs" as a freelancer taught me that.

     Our direct boss was rather loyal to the people he brought over to the US, and who were in a vulnerable position (e.g. their work visa required them to leave the US after 7 days unemployment, so the CTO made sure that he took them with him when the VC made the startup implode).

     Now the "corporate" promises were not worth the electrons used to communicate them.
