Calling someone a faggot is a big no-no. But calling a man a bitch is completely acceptable behaviour for the language police.

@sim I don't like saying "cunt" because it's insulting to women

@sun It's a good thing they didn't call him a cunt because then there would be lots more words had about casual sexism. More people would pick up on that perhaps.

I don't usually say cunt either. I don't like words to hold power over me so I don't usually play these word games unless someone tries it on me. But cunt doesn't seem like a tasteful word. It's an odd one.

@nimrod @sun That is fair. I don't shy away from saying that word if it comes up in conversation. But I can just say Black or African or something like that. Person of colour sounds retarded though. We all have coloured skin so it makes no sense.

@wecanfixthis I don't know if I would go that far with it. I'm more of the opinion that I don't want to give any word more power over us, to make taboos out of them. Intent is more important than a particular word. If someone does try to police my language, then I am not opposed to reminding them where they slip up in their own language like in this case. To hold them to those standards.

@sim All slurs and foul language are fun and necessary. Words are created to be spoken
