@selzero @OccuWorld @fkamiah17 @DifferentDrummer @Black_Flag @Left_Indy @Whoistasha @Kenya Syzito almost sounds like it's the Moomin Valley of the Fediverse. I approve!
@selzero Having now given my PC a thorough 'cleaning' I'm still having to turn my webshield off to access Syzito. As if I wasn't paranoid enough already. If this isn't happening to anyone else then something nasty is likely hidden on this thing that is beyond my Average End User level of finding.
@DifferentDrummer do you have any issues using third party apps? That way you don't have to use the web site at all.
@selzero On the PC? How so?
@selzero Also, I'm still seriously pissed off this is even happening. If it's something to do with my ISP, browser, OS, antivirus etc etc that I haven't specifically asked it to do then bring me the head of Alfredo Silicon-valley-tech-boy.
@DifferentDrummer I believe it's something to do with your antivirus. I believe people pissed off at someone on our platform complained to Avast who have us on some blacklist for content.
There is nothing different software wise on our instance than any other Mastodon instance, so it seems content related.
It seems our only course of action is to communicate with Avast.
@selzero Yeah, I'll bet also. Avast owning Crap Cleaner means their blacklist is applied to this browser. Bastards.
I dumped Avast per se based on your previous comments.
I need to either keep toggling the webshield to view this or change browsers (again..).
@DifferentDrummer make sure Windows defender is up to date. That's going to cover you for day to day use.
Is there a way to ask your browser company why they are blacklisting the site? Some kind of feedback system?
If I need to apply at the domain owner let me know.
Our Mastodon instance is on a dedicated Mastodon hosting server company. It's just running the same Mastodon code everyone else is. I have no means of changing any of that.
@selzero I know it's nothing to do with you/in your power to change directly. Not even vaguely annoyed at you. *Furious* at the fucking capitalist mind you... 😘
