@GossiTheDog It's nothing like what people claim it is. It's a "my heart goes to you gesture".

The ancient Romans had a similar military salute but with a clenched fist - fisted hand over heart, then extended forward.

Here are other photos of politicians waving similarly to the crowd that look like what you think that Musk did but similarly aren't:

"“It seems that [Musk] made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute,”" -- Jewish Anti-defamation league representatives public statement about this incident.

Also Harris for comparison attached (also not a Nazi salute).

Opinion of the Anti-Defamation League. You know, the kind of guys whose mission in life is to defend Jewish people in the USA from anti-semitism?

BTW, they describe him as a "mega-donor". Do you know many Nazis who are mega-donors to organizations that defend Jewish people? Me neither.

@waldschnecke @GossiTheDog The Nazi salute did not involve touching the heart. It's a subservient gesture to the leader - "you're bigger than me, I submit to your authority"; not a "my heart goes out to you" gesture.

@emilion @waldschnecke @GossiTheDog LOL, these schmucks are just as ignorant on the subject as you are.

      Here is Wikipedia, "twisting reality":

"The salute was executed by extending the right arm stiff to an upward 45° angle and then straightening the hand so that it is parallel to the arm."

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_salute

No touching the heart, no clenched fist, no waving the palm up, facing the person they're saluting, not being sideways.

@bontchev @GossiTheDog maybe not really relevant, but maybe it is? it has never been historically proven that the roman salute existed. there is no known record of it (and romans where actually comparativeley good at recording) There are later (much later!) paintings that show something that could be interpreted like this, but none of those are based on historical records. Anyhow - I would like media to call it what is. A nazi -or if you will- fascist sign.

Yes, I'm aware that ADL defends Israel's interests. They defend everything Jewish - it's their mission in life. I'm pretty sure they don't look kindly on Nazi salutes in Israel, either.

@bontchev @waldschnecke @GossiTheDog Haha... ADL is an organization pushing Israel's agenda, looking the other way from ethnic cleansing happening in Israel. ADL, after their statement you quoted, went incommunicado. In the article [1] below you can read reactions, including former ADL's director.
Greenblatt, ADL's CEO, is Musk's fan, so he bends over backwards to twist reality [2]. Just like you.

@GossiTheDog @emilion @waldschnecke I don't follow closely all their writings but that qualification of AfD is probably not quite correct. Anti-semitism is *very* illegal in Germany; a whole official party with such a platform wouldn't be allowed to exist.

I also disagree with the qualification of Italy's PM as "fascist", although like Le Pen, she's a bit too far-right for my taste.
