      ofc there is no mention of strikes or unions in the BBC article

      Denmark has their labor laws, b/c previously they also had time

      Denmark labor laws were immaculately conceived

      @ekis I myself saw an Documentation of Arte about the workers movement (4h long btw) and only afterwards knew how essential that movement was to quality of life of the people in the 20th century.

      When you grow up you get fed this idea that progress and decent living conditions came top down and weren't bled for by workers fighting for their rights and the media plays their part in that charade.

      @econads @Benaresh We never learned anything about the labor movement in California schools, which also creates a very odd gap in US history when you leave it out. The new deal just appears

      Yep, in UK I learned in school about Borneville/Cadbury workers towns/accommodation and hire working conditions improved around the end of the 19th century, but nothing about the labour movement art all. I had the impression it was from the benevolence of some benefactor who just decided to hand down some improvements.
