     @leo @ainmosni @futurebird Nope. Presidential election results, even popular vote, do not reflect public opinion. This is due both to voter suppression and the lack of motivation to go vote at all when your state is solidly blue or solidly red.

     Yes, the existence of the electoral college doesn't distort just the electoral outcome but the popular vote outcome.

     out of everyone that cared who the president would be, most of them voted for Trump

     The vote isn't a full representation of public opinion. It represents the people who are able to and who wanted to vote.

     But last election they represented the public opinion just fine?

     How come every time your team wins the system is working but every time the other team wins it's rigged and doesn't represent what the people want.
