   Trump is threatening ”shock and awe” next week. I fear that he’s hoping he can trigger huge protests, use that as an excuse to crack down hard, exert power over protesters—including using violence against them—to set a precedent, create fear, and ultimately shut down further efforts.

     @GottaLaff Yup, The bigger part of the game is using the violence to declare a state of emergency and then put as much of the other plans in place under that cover.

     @GottaLaff @TCatInReality I've chatted with a historian of the labor movement and he says unions are essential to organizing a general strike and they're way too weak and represent far too few people for it to work today.

     This was a few years ago. Labor has gotten stronger but it's still at near all time lows. I suggested social media could help he disagreed.

     That was before X and Facebook openly enshittifying.

     I agree we need it. But how to make it happen is the question.

     Protests in the street are totally ignored by autocrats - often only bringing blowback.

     Protestors - and all decent people - need to be looking at a #GeneralStrike

     There is a certain governmental document from the CIA making the rounds, circa 1944. I'm certain that if more attention is drawn to it, it'll be removed from the website, so I can only suggest everyone save a copy.
