     @hacks4pancakes Haven't heard Proton say anything about Transgender folk. Did see their CEO put his penis in a blender by making a statement of support for a Trump antitrust appointee, made a bunch of alt-right talking points and then issue more of the same on the official Proton social media labeled as an official statement. He then started a personal account on Reddit with a binary version of 88 (Heil Hitler) at the end.

     @hacks4pancakes But, nothing anti-trans except making an active public show of support for MAGA. Then again, when you support fascists for making the trains run on time, you are in fact supporting the fascists overall. Neutrality in times such as these is not neutrality and they made an active show of support.

     @hacks4pancakes That's my feeling as well. Proton AG set up a non-profit foundation and endowed it with shares and keep intimating that this somehow keeps them in check, but Andy and one other early employee both sit on the board and it isn't clear the foundation has anything like a controlling interest, just that it's the largest single shareholder. Seems like Proton AG still might be able to overrule the Proton Foundation board.

     @hacks4pancakes I don't have a lot of confidence in Proton going forth unless Andy resigns from both organizations and just becomes a major stockholder. I've got a bunch of client accounts as well as personal stuff hosted with them, so this has been a big shit on my already shit filled week, but I'm looking at alternatives right now.

     @kcarruthers @hacks4pancakes I've used Fastmail in the past and like their email offering, but I also don't like that it is Australian hosting given some of their warrantless search laws which require cooperation from companies and also preclude even notification. They're also a member of five eyes. I'd rather look at European alternatives in non fourteen eyes countries as a default position for all my clients.
