@SuperDicq Meme - standing still is almost as bad for you as sitting and sitting is really just more comfortable.

@Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com Yeah I do think in terms of health a standing desk only really makes sense if you also get a treatmill with it or something so you're actually moving.

But even if you mostly sit down I do think that having an electric height adjust button would be nice to have.

Yeah but switching between the two is what you want.

When you're either standing or sitting for long, it builds up pressure in certain joints, causes certain muscles to shorten, etc.

When you switch up between the two every once in a while, you partly solve that issue.

So get a height adjustable one if you can, and make sure to actually switch between the two positions at least once per day depending on how long you're at it.

For example, lately I often work on my feet for several hours, and sit down when I'm done working and relax at the PC.

An added benefit is that, since you can't just stand still on your feet for hours on end, it naturally forces you to move around more to avoid discomfort.

@SuperDicq as always: it depends. If you just stand at it — that's a knee destruction speedrun. The idea is either a treadmill or changing between sitting and standing throughout a day.
