   I deleted it and everything is snappy and responsive again.

     There's LibreWolf if you want privacy aware Firefox (because that's a thing now that Mozilla is horrible).

     I use the Opera offshoot Vivaldi. Runs all Chrome plugs. I use uBlock and other extensions. Fast AF. Customizable UI.

     @PNS I'm giving Firefox a try for now. I'm not sure how lightweight it is, but so far, it is much faster than Brave.

     I still get this on Librewolf for sites with DRM. Maybe it builds support for it, but you still have to enable it in the browser.
     
     Which blobs does it pull from Mozilla? I've just been using the Gentoo Librewolf overlay, but I've thought about trying to package it for Void.
     
     What browser do you use/recommend?

     was custom compiling librewolf and at least with those standard options it still enables drm and pulls binary blobs from mozilla

     yeah i was compiling the gentoo librewolf overlay - i don't have much experience with this because my daily driver is devuan, i've been setting up a gentoo machine because i've recently got access to hardware capable of doing so
     
     look at the options, it still enables pulling binary blobs per default, unless i'm misunderstanding the wording
     
     daily use browser is librewolf / devuan

     Had I known, I could have given Matt here at NA.S a heads up.

     My advice to anyone in a similar situation would be to give him notice. There may be preventive mitigations.

     I commenced the process, went to bed and woke up to my personal responsibility across Fedi.

     @eriner we might consider drafting a best practices policy in this regard.
