KeepTakingTheSoma (keeptakingthesoma@spinster.xyz)'s status on Thursday, 09-Jan-2025 05:18:29 JST KeepTakingTheSoma @macha I have a Lib Dem MP so I've just emailed to ask why he abstained. I would be very interested in his answer. Given that they all abstained, I guess it was a party decision. -

Grooming-gang victims furious at PM’s ‘far right bandwagon’ claim The detective who blew whistle on the grooming scandal also says the child sexual abuse inquiry spent just two weeks out of seven years looking at gangs
Maggie Oliver, who helped expose the failure to tackle paedophile gangs in Rochdale, said that Starmer “clearly still views the victims as a problem” and blamed him for failing to do more when he was director of public prosecutions (DPP). The former Greater Manchester police detective told The Times the previous inquiry into child abuse was a “missed opportunity” and said the £200-million, seven-year probe spent just two weeks looking into grooming gangs.
